There’s a number of elements one can include when putting together a before sleep ritual. Yes, a ritual. Because getting settling down for bed these days, and then staying asleep, can be a event that requires deliberate setup, in order to create the relaxing environment.
Two ingredients I like to put together are ocean sounds and reading a paper book. The other night I put on an ocean sounds video recording from YouTube – there are lots of them – for about 30 minutes while I was reading. When I started to get drowsy, then I powered down the device playing the sounds.
